What does it mean to live your best life? It means living with less stress, peace of mind and a calmness that helps you navigate through out your whole day. You can begin to live your best life by having a healthy state of mind. Having a healthier body supports a good state of health mentally. One way to measure if you have a healthy state of mind is to answer the following questions: How much fun do you experience in your daily life? How much laughter do you express daily? Laughter is really the best medicine. Medical studies show that laughter boosts levels of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers and suppress levels of epinephrine, the stress hormone. The first step to being in control of your health and life is being in control of your mind. If you’re not controlling your thoughts, who is? So the secret isn’t really a secret because what I am talking about here can be found in many medical studies, resources and publications.

Most of us live out our daily lives absorbing all the stress that confronts us. Taking responsibility for your physical and mental health requires taking responsibility of learning how to manage the stress that is in our daily lives. Dealing with daily stress requires taking time for meditation with a focus and purpose.

Meditation, visualization and hypnosis enable you to communicate with your physical body, to relax mental and muscle tension even regulate autonomous body systems. Meditation is a state of heightened awareness. You are in this state naturally when you are focusing your mind on something to the point of negating everything else that is going on around you. Have you ever been driving in your car and you went by that well known landmark but when you arrived at your destination you did not remember seeing it? We experience this state of mind daily. Most of us are looking for that peace of mind.

Here are some steps to gain access to your own resources, reaching optimal health and that state of mind.

First, Breathe, Breathe, Breathe, I can’t say it enough. The ultimate quickest way to relax is to take a deep breathe. Whenever you feel stressed or find yourself in any type of tense situation, stop and take a deep breath before you speak or take any other action. Deep, slow breathing is the first step to being relaxed and will help you achieve self-hypnosis, meditation and visualization. Deep breathing raises blood oxygen levels which aids mental performance and quiets the mind.

Pay particular attention to relaxing your stomach, dropping your shoulders down and releasing your jaw. Know that whatever brought on the tension reaction whether it was a driver with a crazy maneuver, a co-worker, a child or spouse they did not cause your tension. You did with your thought.

Basically, it’s change your thought, change your reaction. Find a thought that doesn’t elicit negative notions and body tension. The ideal thought change is one that actually makes you laugh.

Changing thought patterns that bring tension responses does take conscious practice in the beginning. It might even take awhile to catch the thought train as it starts. Whenever you find yourself in a negative response pattern, just stop and take a breath. Replay the whole scene in your mind and adjust your response to one that keeps you calm. You will find that when you stay calm, your situation and others around you will respond in kind. As you practice relaxing your body with breathing and calm thinking, you will find many of your health dis-eases ease away. Remember dis-ease is the mind and body not at ease.

Physicians can fix the body but the mind can create the situation again. This is why adding the mind to a health program is the optimum method for total healing.

Testimonial:
"Hi Christine,
I want to take a minute to thank you for the wonderful work we did together. I was focused on my weight but your insight, caring and listening skills proved to help me on so many levels.

To much weight on a body is truly just a symptom of what is lurking under the surface and in a most kind manor you probed and asked questions that uncovered some of the issues that made me want stuff my feelings. The past few years have been exceedingly difficult and my time with you not only proved to help me get on a right track but gave me awareness enabling me to forgive. Life is brighter now and I thank you so much for your ability to ask the right questions and still keep the joy in the process.”
